Creating Interactive Pricing Tables
Learn how to build pricing tables that let clients choose packages, select add-ons, and see totals update in real-time.
Static pricing buried in a PDF doesn't cut it anymore. Closed's interactive pricing tables let clients explore options, select add-ons, and see exactly what they're getting—all before they sign.
Pricing Modes
Closed supports different pricing structures to match how you sell:
Fixed Price
A single price for the entire project. Simple and straightforward—clients see the total and can accept or negotiate.
Package Selection
Offer multiple packages (e.g., Basic, Professional, Enterprise) and let clients choose. Each package can have different deliverables and pricing.
Line Items with Optional Add-ons
List individual line items where some are required and others are optional. Clients can check/uncheck add-ons and the total updates in real-time.
Setting Up Package Selection
Package selection is perfect when you have tiered offerings:
- In the Pricing step, select "Package Selection" as your pricing mode
- Add your packages: Give each a name, price, and description
- List what's included: Add bullet points for each package's deliverables
- Set a recommended package: Optionally highlight one as "Most Popular"
Package Example
Starter
£2,500
- • 5-page website
- • Mobile responsive
- • Contact form
Professional Popular
£5,000
- • 10-page website
- • CMS integration
- • SEO setup
- • Analytics
Enterprise
£10,000
- • Unlimited pages
- • E-commerce
- • Custom features
- • Priority support
Adding Optional Add-ons
Add-ons let clients customise their purchase. When you use the "Line Items" pricing mode:
- Add your core deliverables as required line items
- Add optional items and mark them as "Optional"
- Set individual prices for each line item
Clients see checkboxes next to optional items. As they select add-ons, the total updates automatically.
Pro tip: Use optional add-ons to increase average deal value. Many clients will add at least one extra when given the choice.
Multi-Currency Support
Working with international clients? Closed supports multiple currencies:
- Set your default currency in organisation settings
- Override currency on individual proposals
- Supported currencies include GBP (£), USD ($), EUR (€), AUD, CAD, and more
Tracking Pricing Engagement
One of the most valuable analytics in Closed is pricing engagement. You can see:
- Time spent on pricing: How long clients look at your pricing section
- Package consideration: Which packages they hover over or click
- Add-on interest: Which optional items they checked (even if later unchecked)
This data helps you understand if your pricing is clear, if clients are considering upgrades, and where they might have concerns.
Best Practices
- Keep it simple: 3 packages is usually the sweet spot—more creates decision paralysis
- Anchor high: Show your premium option first so other packages look more affordable
- Name packages clearly: Use names that convey value, not just size (e.g., "Launch", "Growth", "Scale")
- Highlight differences: Make it obvious what clients get at each level
- Price add-ons appropriately: They should feel like good value compared to starting over
What Happens When They Choose
When a client selects a package or checks add-ons:
- The total updates instantly in the proposal
- Their selection is saved automatically
- When they sign, the selected pricing is locked into the signed document
- You receive a notification with exactly what they chose
Summary
Interactive pricing transforms passive quotes into engaging experiences. Clients feel in control of their purchase, and you get valuable insights into how they think about your pricing.
